WHAT IF ERIC HOLDER WAS SUPPYING ARMS TO HEZBOLAH IN MEXICO WHO WERE THEN TRAINING MEXICAN DRUG CARTELS TO BEHEAD THEIR ENEMIES.  THAT WOULD BE TOO HORRIBLE TO IMAGINE, RIGHT?

A “Muslim-American woman” spreads misinformation about Islam at Fox News

Saima Sheikh is media communications leader for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The Ahmadiyya, of course, are considered heretics by mainstream Muslims for their belief in “the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani.” Saima Sheikh doesn’t mention this all-important fact here, but instead gives the impression to unwary and uninformed non-Muslims that some eminent Muslim authority has declared violent jihad un-Islamic. In reality, it is in part for that declaration that Ahmadis are being ferociously persecuted today in Pakistan and Indonesia, and the governing authorities do not even consider them to be true Muslims.

“A Muslim-American Woman Reacts to Obama’s Ground Zero Visit and Bin Laden’s Death,” by Saima Sheikh for FoxNews.com, May 5:

It has been four days since we learned that the infamous Usama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda and the most wanted man in the world has been killed. I would like to thank the brave United States Navy SEALS. As an American-Muslim woman, I am happy that justice has finally been served….

So in the headline Saima Sheikh is a “Muslim-American,” and in her first paragraph she is an “American-Muslim.” Have you ever seen anyone refer to a “Christian-American” or a “Jewish-American”? Of course not. There are Americans who are Jews and Americans who are Christians, but neither group uses such terms, because there is nothing about either faith that precludes or qualifies one’s allegiance to the United States. These hyphenated terms, all of which are corrosive to national unity, as Theodore Roosevelt pointed out long ago, are usually combinations of some other nationality with “American,” not a religion with “American.” By using these terms, Saima Sheikh, as well as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations, imply that Islam is a kind of nationality, calling for a type of national allegiance, and so one may be a hybrid of Muslim and American, but one cannot be a Muslim and simply an “American.”

I applauded President Bush’s remarks after 9/11 and President Obama’s remarks Sunday night that “America will never be at war with Islam. Our war is not with Islam. Osama was never a Muslim leader. He was a mass murderer.”The word “Islam” means peace and obedience.

Actually, no. It means “submission.”

As Muslims we are taught not to create disorder and to respect each other regardless of our faith. No true Muslim can do what Osama Bin Laden had done. There is no place for extremism of any kind in Islam. The Holy Quran clearly states “Whosoever killed a person…It shall be as if he had killed all mankind.” (5:33) and “when he is in authority, he runs about in the land to create disorder in it and destroy the crops and the progeny of man; and Allah loves not disorder.” (2:206)

Actually Qur’an 5:32 (not 5:33, at least in most versions) doesn’t say that “whosoever killed a person…It shall be as if he had killed all mankind.” It says “We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind.” “Corruption in the earth,” or the “disorder” that Saima Sheikh decries by invoking Qur’an 2:206, is punishable, according to the Qur’an, by crucifixion or amputation of the hands and feet on opposite sides (5:33). Osama made his case among Muslims by charging that the United States was spreading corruption in the earth, and thus was fair game. The jihadist movement rejects the charge that it is creating disorder by pointing out that warfare against unbelievers is mandated in the Qur’an (cf. 9:5, 9:29, 2:190-193; etc.), and thus to pursue that war is not to create disorder.

This is not to say that bin Laden is wrong and Saima Sheikh is right, but it is an indication of why the jihadists have been able to make recruits within the larger Muslim community, in which their position is much better established in Islamic texts and teachings and more mainstream than Saima Sheikh’s.

I am an America Muslim woman who believes in the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, who declared emphatically over a century ago that an aggressive “Jihad by the Sword” has no place in Islam. In its place, he has taught his followers to wage a bloodless, intellectual “Jihad of the Pen” to defend Islam.

Highly misleading. Even aside from their status as heretics, the Ahmadiyya are a small minority among Muslims. Groups recognized as orthodox have by no means rejected “Jihad by the Sword.”

This is what I and others in my community are doing all across the United States. We want to tell our fellow Americans that there are moderate Muslims who are speaking up against extremism. I am a loyal American who is taught by my faith, “O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority among you…” (4:60) This is further reiterated by Prophet Muhammad, “Love of your homeland, your place of residence, is part of your faith.”

He also said, “I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was guaranteed the protection of his property and life on my behalf except for the right affairs rest with Allah” (Sahih Muslim 30). It would have been refreshing for Saima Sheikh to explain why she rejects this mandate, if she does, and on what grounds.

But instead, it’s the same old disingenuous presentation of half-truths (at best).

Boko Haram takes a strong stand against Islamophobia. “Police: Radical Muslim sect kills 5, including 3 prison guards, in northeastern Nigeria,” from the Associated Press, May 4 (thanks to Twostellas):

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Police say members of a radical Muslim sect shot and killed three prison guards, a police officer and a woman in recent attacks in Nigeria’s troubled northeast.Borno state Assistant Police Commissioner Usman Baba said Wednesday that the attacks took place over two days in the city of Maiduguri. Baba said four men hiding Kalashnikov rifles under their traditional robes killed the people in attacks across the city.

Baba said police suspect the attackers belong to an Islamic sect known as Boko Haram.

Pigman confronts OBL.jpg
An important announcement from our talented and courageous friend Bosch Fawstin:

I recently released the first chapter of my graphic novel, The Infidel, as a digital comic book (which can be read on computers and most eBook readers). The Infidel is my artistic response to the atrocity of 9/11. It is a story about twin brothers Killian Duke and Salaam Duka, whose Muslim background comes crashing to the forefront of their lives on 9/11. Killian responds by creating a comic book featuring a pigskin-clad superhero named Pigman, who takes on Jihad. Salaam’s response is full submission to Islam. Pigman’s battle against his arch-enemy, SuperJihad, echoes the escalating conflict between the twins.Nearly ten years after 9/11, The Infidel #1 is the first comic that has taken on jihad in a significant way. I believe today’s pop culture has to show and tell the truth about what we are facing in the post-9/11 world; it has to bring it to the enemy the way the culture of the WWII generation did. My part in this is The Infidel, and I hope it is only the beginning of a larger trend. If you agree, check out The Infidel #1.

Possibly in revenge for the death of Osama bin Laden. I hadn’t realized that Iraqi policemen had killed him. “Iraq suicide car bombing kills at least 21 police,” from Radio Netherlands, May 5 (thanks to Twostellas):

A suicide attacker blew up a bomb-filled car at a police station south of Baghdad, killing 21 policemen on Thursday, as Iraqi forces braced for Al-Qaeda revenge attacks after Osama bin Laden’s death. The attack, which also wounded at least 75 policemen, was the worst in Iraq in more than a month, and pushed security chiefs to install new checkpoints, tighten access to key roads and restrict movement between provinces.

The bombing left a two-metre (six-foot) crater and badly damaged the police station in the centre of the mainly Shiite city of Hilla, capital of Babil province, in addition to several nearby houses and shops, just days after US special forces killed bin Laden in Pakistan.

“The suicide bomber took advantage of the police station’s guards changing shifts to attack,” said Haidar al-Zazour, head of the Babil provincial council security committee.

“He managed to drive through the main gate and blew up his vehicle four metres (12 feet) inside the station’s perimeter.”…

“The prosecution allege in this case that this was an organised attempt taking place in Manchester to raise men for the jihad, to recruit fighters. This means finding people who are capable of being persuaded and persuading them that their religious duty requires them to fight to kill and to die, if necessary.” How did they persuade them of that? Are similar efforts at persuasion taking place anywhere else in Britain today? Does anyone know? Does anyone care?

“‘Fight, kill and die’: Four Muslims tried to recruit undercover police as part of holy war, court hears,” from the Daily Mail, May 5 (thanks to Alexandre):

A former Taliban fighter tried to recruit undercover police officers to ‘fight, kill and die’ in a holy war in Afghanistan, a court heard today.Pakistani-born Munir Farooqi, 54, had been an ‘active terrorist’ with the Taliban before being jailed in Afghanistan in 2001, Manchester Crown Court heard.

He was then released by Pakistan, flew to Britain and was at the heart of a ‘long and delicate process of radicalisation’ of the two undercover officers, Manchester Crown Court heard.

The plan began at Islamic bookstalls in Manchester, taking in visits to mosques in the city, but ending with the sole intention of delivering recruits to ‘training camps and battlefields’ abroad, the jury was told.

‘The prosecution allege in this case that this was an organised attempt taking place in Manchester to raise men for the jihad, to recruit fighters,’ Andrew Edis QC, prosecuting, told the jury.

‘This means finding people who are capable of being persuaded and persuading them that their religious duty requires them to fight to kill and to die, if necessary.

‘It means persuading them to travel from the UK to training camps and battlefields abroad, principally in Afghanistan.’

Farooqi was running a Dawah bookstall in Manchester to spread the word of Islam, the court heard, when he was approached by the officers, identified only by the pseudonyms Ray and Simon, in October 2008.

They pretended to be at a low ebb in their lives and interested in Islam, but wore secret recording devices as they were ‘groomed’ and ‘brainwashed’ by Munir, his son and two others, Andrew Edis, prosecuting, told the court….

Father-of-three Munir and his son, Harris Farooqi, 27, also on trial, turned the family’s four-bed terrace house in Longsight, Manchester into a ‘production centre for propaganda’ using a computer and copying machines in the basement to churn out DVDS and CDs about radical Islam.

Munir also used his status as a Taliban ‘veteran’ to recruit others and would have the ‘know how and contacts’ to get willing fighters to Afghanistan, it was claimed.

British Muslim convert Matthew Newton, 29, and Israr Malik, 22, who are also in the dock, both worked at the stall and were involved in recruiting and trying to radicalise the officers, it was alleged….

Israr Malik was a typical target for recruitment; he had been jailed and his life was in a mess but was radicalised while in a Young Offenders Institute by the Farooqis and Newton who gave him Islamist literature to read while on visits.

The terror charges include disseminating terrorist publications, preparing for acts of terrorism and soliciting to murder….

The Pakistani government should be apologizing. It should be groveling. It should be undertaking a massive internal reform to sweep out the jihad sympathizers. It should be opening its doors to American military personnel, acknowledging that it is infiltrated and compromised and offering to do whatever it takes to reverse that. After all, Pakistan is a country on the dole. They’re getting billions from the U.S. every year to fight jihad terrorism. They should be doing everything they can right now to repair the damage done by the revelation that they were sheltering Osama bin Laden for years. But instead, we’re getting threats and Islamic supremacist arrogance. Congress should cut all aid — all aid to Pakistan today, present the Pakistani government with a bill for all the aid given to it since 9/11, and cease to consider Pakistan an ally.

“Pakistan warns America not to stage any more raids,” by Chris Brummitt for the Associated Press, May 6:

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan warned America Thursday of “disastrous consequences” if it carries out any more raids against terrorists like the one that killed Osama bin Laden, and hit back at international allegations it may have been harboring the al-Qaida chief….Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir’s remarks seemed to be aimed chiefly at addressing that criticism.

“The Pakistan security forces are neither incompetent nor negligent about their sacred duty to protect Pakistan,” he told reporters. “There shall not be any doubt that any repetition of such an act will have disastrous consequences,” he said….

American officials have said they didn’t inform Pakistan in advance, fearing bin Laden could be tipped off.

Elements of Pakistan’s army and Inter-Services Intelligence agency have long been suspected of maintaining links to Islamist militants, mostly for use as proxies in Afghanistan and Pakistan. While the country has worked with the United States to arrest many al-Qaida operatives since 2001, suspicion lingers it is playing a double game.

The leaders of Britain and France, as well as U.S. officials, have said Pakistan has questions to answer over bin Laden’s location in a large house close to an army academy in a garrison town.

Bashir said it was “absolutely wrong” to blame the ISI. “After all there was information within the U.S. system about those who were ultimately, eventually responsible for the 9/11 (attacks), so it’s not for me to say that the U.S. government or the CIA failed to prevent that,” he said….

Bashir said perceptions that Pakistan’s ties with Washington were at rock bottom were untrue.

“We acknowledge the United States is an important friend,” he said. “Basically Pakistan and U.S. relations are moving in the right direction.”

EU spokesman Michael Mann said Thursday “there can be no doubt” Pakistan would remain an important partner in the region even amid the allegations.

Of course.

“If they really wanted to start blowing stuff up, they could do it.”

“Terrorist Group Setting Up Operations Near Border: Hezbollah Considered To Be More Advanced Than Al-Qaida,” from 10News.com, May 4 (thanks to David):

SAN DIEGO — A terrorist organization whose home base is in the Middle East has established another home base across the border in Mexico.”They are recognized by many experts as the ‘A’ team of Muslim terrorist organizations,” a former U.S. intelligence agent told 10News.

The former agent, referring to Shi’a Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah, added, “They certainly have had successes in big-ticket bombings.”

Some of the group’s bombings include the U.S. embassy in Beirut and Israeli embassy in Argentina.

However, the group is now active much closer to San Diego.

“We are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico,” the agent told 10News.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. policy has focused on al-Qaida and its offshoots.

“They are more shooters than thinkers … it’s a lot of muscles, courage, desire but not a lot of training,” the agent said, referring to al-Qaida.

Hezbollah, he said, is far more advanced.

“Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans,” he said. “I consider Hezbollah much more dangerous in that sense because of strategic thinking; they think more long-term.”

Hezbolah has operated in South America for decades and then Central America, along with their sometime rival, sometime ally Hamas.

Now, the group is blending into Shi’a Muslim communities in Mexico, including Tijuana. Other pockets along the U.S.-Mexico border region remain largely unidentified as U.S. intelligence agencies are focused on the drug trade.

“They have had clandestine training in how to live in foreign hostile territories,” the agent said. [...]

“If they really wanted to start blowing stuff up, they could do it,” the agent said.

According to the agent, the organization sees the U.S. as their “cash cow,” with illegal drug and immigration operations. Many senior Hezbollah leaders are wealthy businessmen, the agent said.

“The money they are sending back to Lebanon is too important right now to jeopardize those operations,” he said.

The agent said the real concern is the group’s long-term goal of radicalizing Muslim communities.

“They’re focusing on developing … infiltrating communities within North America,” the agent told 10News.

“Islamophobia” was apparently Osama bin Laden’s fault, and now that he is dead, New Jersey Muslims hope that it will dissipate. But unfortunately, Osama bin Laden was by no means the only Muslim committing acts of violence, including mass murder, in the name of Islam. I have said it before and will say it again, but If these poor victims really want to stop “paying the price for bin Laden,” here is an easy way. They can:

1. Focus their indignation on Muslims committing violent acts in the name of Islam, not on non-Muslims reporting on those acts.
2. Renounce definitively, sincerely, honestly, and in deeds, not just in comforting words, not just “terrorism,” but any intention to replace the U.S. Constitution (or the constitutions of any non-Muslim state) with Sharia even by peaceful means. In line with this, clarify what is meant by their condemnations of the killing of innocent people by stating unequivocally that American and Israeli civilians are innocent people, teaching accordingly in mosques and Islamic schools, and behaving in accord with these new teachings.
3. Teach, again sincerely and honestly, in transparent and inspectable ways in mosques and Islamic schools, the imperative of Muslims coexisting peacefully as equals with non-Muslims on an indefinite basis, and act accordingly.
4. Begin comprehensive international programs in mosques all over the world to teach sincerely against the ideas of violent jihad and Islamic supremacism.
5. Actively and honestly work with Western law enforcement officials to identify and apprehend jihadists within Western Muslim communities.

If Muslims do those five things, voila! People like me will no longer suffer from the illness of “Islamophobia”! “N.J. Muslims debate whether Osama bin Laden’s death will dispel anti-Islamic sentiment,” by Alexi Friedman and Dan Goldberg for The Star Ledger, May 5:

Hours after Osama bin Laden’s death was announced, the office of the Paterson-based American Arab Forum received a phone call. The person on the line was looking for Aref Assaf, the organization’s Columbia University-educated president.”‘Tell your boss that we got his friend and we’re going to get him,’” the man said, according to Assaf, who dismissed the threat as kids pulling a prank.

While the call represented a kind of hostility Assaf said many Arabs commonly endure in the United States, he believed bin Laden’s death might create an opportunity “to open a new chapter.”

“We have been paying the price for bin Laden for the last 10 years,” Assaf said. “Enough castigating our community. We hope this will serve as a reminder to America that the real source of terror was not in Paterson or Dearborn, Michigan (two cities with significant Arab and Muslim populations) but in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

In the mosques of Jersey City and outside Arab-owned shops along Main Street in Paterson, opinions differed about whether the death of the world’s most notorious terrorist would alter perceptions that have persisted for nearly a decade.

But across the country, there are already signs that anti-Islamic sentiment has not yet ebbed. In addition to crank phone calls, several other personal attacks were reported after President Obama announced late Sunday night that the al Qaeda leader had been killed.

In Portland, Maine, the message: “Osama Today, Islam Tomorrow” was spray-painted on a mosque. A Texas teacher was suspended after allegedly telling a 9-year-old Muslim girl in his algebra class, “I bet that you’re grieving.” And in Anaheim, Calif., eggs were thrown at a nightclub, hitting its owner, Mohammed El Khatib.

It was the kind of reaction Hesham Mahmoud, who was born in Egypt and now lives in Rutherford, said he expected. “If anything, I think his death will have a negative effect, because of all the people out there spreading nonsense about Muslims,” said Mahmoud, 42.

It will take more than bin Laden’s death to dispel ignorance, said James Yee, executive director of the New Jersey chapter of the [Hamas-linked] Council on American Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization. “It is disheartening, and tells me our work is not going to stop,” he said. Bin Laden’s death “is not going to change much regarding Muslims being accepted.”…

It will take more than an expression of victimhood by a spokesman for Hamas-linked CAIR to dispel reasonable and justifiable suspicion of the intentions of Muslim groups (including but not limited to Hamas-linked CAIR) in the U.S.

Geelani clearly sees “Laden,” as he is called in this article, as a great hero of Islam. The cognitive dissonance thus continues. Media outlets all over the U.S. have been running stories about local Muslims expressing joy and relief at bin Laden’s death, and explaining that he was a notorious hijacker of the Religion of Peace. And yet all over the Islamic world there appear to be Muslims who see him as a great mujahid and martyr. Yet no Muslim spokesman anywhere will deign to explain this dichotomy to the kuffar.

“Geelani to lead prayers for Osama,” by Peerzada Ashiq in the Hindustan Times, May 5 (thanks to David):

Hardline Kashmir separatist group Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has planned to lead last rite prayers in absentia on Friday in Srinagar for slain al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Fearing trouble, the police have restricted Geelani’s movement on Thursday. “All religious figures, heads and people in general are appealed to perform Nimaz Jinazah (last rites) in absentia after Friday prayers for the martyr (Laden). All should also pray for an end of foreign occupation and rule in Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq and Kashmir,” said 82-year-old Geelani.Geelani has emerged only leader from Kashmir separatists’ spectrum to publicly call Laden a “martyr”. But Geelani was quick to add the 9/11 attacks on the US was “an act of terrorism”.

“All Muslims across the globe are brothers. It’s the duty of every Muslim to pray for forgiveness and for the best hereafter life for the departed soul of a Muslim,” said Geelani, whose house was circled by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday, fearing him taking out a pro-Laden procession in the valley.

“The slain Laden had entire Muslim world’s pain in him. He (Laden) left the life of leisure for the downtrodden and suppressed Muslims of the world. So it’s our duty to repay his good deeds by praying for him,” said Geelani.

The Hurriyat chairman is scheduled to perform prayers on Friday at Srinagar’s Batamaloo area. “Geelani sahib would lead a special prayers session for Laden. But since 7am on Thursday, the police disallowed Geelani to move out of his house,” said Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar….

Geelani, however, has condemned the US for burying the body of Laden at the sea, terming it “an act of Stone Age times.”

Not like 9/11, which was very modern.

The ailing Kashmiri separatist leader went ahead and said: “Laden was not just a name of a person but of an ideology and thinking against occupation of Muslim lands by foreigners.”"The Western countries should realize that suppression and occupation meted to Muslims in their lands will manifest resistance time and again,” warned Geelani.

In “Job Opening: New Global Jihad Leader Wanted” by Raymond Ibrahim in National Review Online, May 2 (via RaymondIbrahim.com), Raymond discusses why the declarations that the jihad is over in the wake of bin Laden’s death are premature:

[...] Years ago, Ayman al-Zawahiri, now al-Qaeda’s undisputed leader, placed it all in context. After he was asked about the status of bin Laden and the Taliban’s Mullah Omar, he confidently replied:

Jihad in the path of Allah is greater than any individual or organization. It is a struggle between Truth and Falsehood, until Allah Almighty inherits the earth and those who live in it. Mullah Muhammad Omar and Sheikh Osama bin Laden—may Allah protect them from all evil—are merely two soldiers of Islam in the journey of jihad, while the struggle between Truth [Islam] and Falsehood [non-Islam] transcends time (The Al Qaeda Reader, p.182).

In short, bin Laden’s death, while intrinsically good, has no instrumental value against the jihad—a phenomenon that “transcends time” and “is greater than any individual.”

On June 30, 2010, I wrote this about Mosab Hassan Yousef, author of Son of Hamas: “It sounds as if Mosab Hassan Yousef hasn’t modified his old Hamas views all that much…I am surprised that the Jewish groups that are so earnestly championing his cause don’t seem to have read his book very closely.”

And it turns out my suspicions were correct. “The Mosab Yousef Saga: Did Hamas ‘Defector’ Dupe All of Us?,” by Walid Shoebat in Pajamas Media, May 5 (thanks to Tim):

While a prisoner of Israel in 1996, Mosab Hassan Yousef — the son of Sheik Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas — was approached by Shin Bet agents who looked to recruit him to spy within Hamas. He agreed. Mosab’s information soon had Shin Bet calling him “the most reliable source in the Hamas leadership,” and Israeli lives were undoubtedly saved as a result of Mosab’s collaboration.Despite this success, Yousef has since revealed himself to be more double agent than turncoat.

During the initial contact within Israel’s Maskubia (Jerusalem’s central prison), Mosab agreed to collaborate in exchange for Israel not targeting his father. After years of providing valuable intelligence, in 2007 Mosab declared his conversion to Christianity, moved to California, and went public with his story. His tale was a sensation, drawing attention and praise from U.S. pro-Israel organizations. But his tale has since been revealed to be a “long con,” the evidence coming from when he speaks publicly in Arabic.

Mosab did not convert to what the West would recognize as Christianity, but to a fiery, Palestinian brand of the faith that is vehemently anti-Israel. According to Mosab, his main goal in coming to the U.S. is to infiltrate the main source of international support for Israel: the American church. From an interview with Al-Arabiya:

During my tours in universities and even churches, [I found] the real support for Israel stems from the church in the West. … We need to understand the difference between “revenge” and “resistance” and once the Palestinians do, we will have our victory against Israel.

Activists like Mosab know very well that Western media rarely translate their doublespeak. He continues:

Israel is the problem and as an occupation it needs to end. … There are many ways to do this besides the coward explosive operations.

Mosab’s formula? Infiltrate the West with his book:

This will be the first time in history that a Palestinian book will find success so that the Western reader can see for himself the reality of what goes on over there. People in the West do not know what happens over there.

Read it all.

Deserving to die in Vienna, May 2010

I’m feeling the love from this comment left at YouTube on the video of my address at the Vienna Forum in Austria, May 8, 2010:

THIS IS A MAN THAT DISERVE TO DIE. MATTER OF FACT HE DISERVE TO DIE THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE TO DIE.

I will die, too, so no worries on that score. But before I do, I’m going to keep doing all I can to make this man and others like him feel the heat of the truth.

UPDATE: Victory! Everett college officials decline to cancel talk by writer Raymond Ibrahim (thanks to Mackie). Thanks to all Jihad Watch readers who wrote to Everett officials in Raymond’s defense against Hamas-linked CAIR.

—————————————–

They always howl when someone exposes the truth about the global jihad and Islamic supremacism. The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) consistently opposes anti-terror measures, has misrepresented the political and supremacist nature of Sharia in efforts to combat anti-Sharia legislation, and more. CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Honest Ibe Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements.

This is the group trying to dictate to Everett Community College on its choice of speakers, and defaming a freedom fighter in the process. Free Americans should not let this unsavory Hamas-linked gang of thugs get away with this.

“EvCC event could undermine clear understanding of Islam,” by Arsalan Bukhari, executive director of the Washington State chapter of Hamas-linked CAIR, in HeraldNet, May 4:

As part of its yearlong “Islam in America” lecture series, Everett Community College has invited the controversial speaker and writer Raymond Ibrahim to give a lecture on Thursday. This series of events, funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, gives a much-needed boost to the understanding of Islam, but I fear that this particular event will go a long way toward undermining that goal.Indeed, by inviting a known conspiracy theorist with a history of making unfounded claims about Islam, the college is doing a disservice to the public and risks creating a hostile learning environment for its students. Mr. Ibrahim’s views have been questioned elsewhere. He resigned under pressure from the Library of Congress for using his title of research librarian to promote his arguments. His strategy is similar to that employed by Minister Louis Farrakhan who, in his latest book, used the contents of the Talmud to support his anti-Semitic theories.

Note the irony in Bukhari’s use of Farrakhan, whose antisemitic statements are routinely echoed by imams in the Islamic world. And Raymond Ibrahim did not, in fact, resign under pressure from the Library of Congress; he resigned of his own free will.

In reality, Raymond Ibrahim is supremely competent to speak about Islam at Everett Community College or anywhere else. He is Middle Eastern by origin (Bukhari can’t call him a “racist”); he is fluent in Arabic (and studied in the Center of Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University, where he got straight A’s); his M.A. thesis was about Islam; and he worked in the Near East section of Library of Congress. He is the author of The Al Qaeda Reader, and is currently associate director of the Middle East Forum. He has served as a guest lecturer at the National Defense Intelligence College in Washington, DC, and has testified before Congress on “extremist ideologies.”

Mr. Ibrahim often supports his anti-Muslim theories by taking Islamic teachings and skewing them to support a point. That’s why over 60 Puget Sound area interfaith and community leaders sent a joint letter to the college calling on them to cancel the event.Despite this, the college has decided to go forward with the event, so in order to enable the reader to attend this lecture from a knowledgeable position, I will address several of Mr. Ibrahim’s misleading claims.

Mr. Ibrahim has suggested that Muslims must be disloyal to America because Islam contains a “mandate for Muslims to be loyal to fellow Muslims and Islam.” In reality, Muslims must obey the laws of the land they live in, unless Islamic law specifically prohibits following a law. They may challenge unjust laws, but only through peaceful, and, in essence, democratic methods.

Yes, we see the peaceful, democratic methods that Muslims are using all over the world these days to affect change, from Indonesia and Thailand and the Philippines to Nigeria, not to mention Iraq and Afghanistan. And “Muslims must obey the laws of the land they live in,” but in classic Islamic theology this is only a temporary stage, corresponding to Muhammad’s Meccan period: when Muslims are weak and the infidels are strong, Muslims must obey the laws of the land. But in Medina, after moving from Mecca, Muhammad began to wage defensive jihad and then offensive jihad — and traditionally the various schools of Islamic jurisprudence have taught that Muslims must obey the laws of the land until they gain sufficient power to impose Islamic law.

Moreover, according to a 2007 Pew Research Survey, American Muslims have a positive view of American society and are highly assimilated. Indeed, American Muslims work as paramedics, firefighters and police officers, and more than 3,700 American Muslims serve in the U.S. armed forces.

Irrelevant. None of that indicates in any way that they don’t want to impose Sharia when possible, and the many stealth jihad initiatives in the U.S. demonstrate that many of these paramedics, firefighters and police officers have just that on their minds.

Nonetheless, Mr. Ibrahim has argued that when devout Muslims move to America, “this invariably will compromise what many of them profess to be their ultimate priority: living in accordance to the divine laws of Allah.” The 2007 Pew Survey challenges this assertion, showing that most American Muslims believe that Muslim immigrants “should try and adopt American customs, rather than trying to remain distinct from the larger society.” And nearly two-thirds don’t see a conflict between “being a devout Muslim and living in a modern society.”

Note Bukhari’s sleight of hand: Raymond Ibrahim is saying that Muslims believe they must live “in accordance to the divine laws of Allah,” and Bukhari invokes poll data showing that Muslims think they should “try and adopt American customs.” Yet “customs” are one thing and “divine laws” another. Is Bukhari saying that Muslims should set aside what they believe to be divine laws in favor of American customs? Somehow I doubt it.

Not only that, but devout Muslims who regularly attend mosque are more likely to participate in politics and to see Islam as compatible with the American political system than less religious Muslims, according to the Muslim American Public Opinion Survey conducted by researchers at the University of Washington and Harvard University. Plainly, American Muslims don’t see a conflict between living in America and practicing Islam.

Fine. But do American Muslims see a conflict between the U.S. Constitution and practicing Islam? Bukhari doesn’t say.

Another of Mr. Ibrahim’s unfounded claims is that “Islam is to be at perpetual war with the non-Muslim world, until the former subsumes the latter.” This claim can be rejected on its face: There are more than 1.6 billion Muslims on Earth and clearly the vast majority of them are not engaged in a violent battle for domination.

“I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was guaranteed the protection of his property and life on my behalf except for the right affairs rest with Allah.” — Muhammad (Sahih Muslim 30)

“Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them.” — Muhammad (Sahih Muslim 4294)

In light of such teachings (and there are many more like them) from the prophet of Islam, the supreme example of conduct for the Muslim (cf. Qur’an 33:21), what is the significance of the fact that “there are more than 1.6 billion Muslims [actually fewer] on Earth and the vast majority of them are not engaged in a violent battle for domination”? Does it mean that this vast majority doesn’t believe that “Islam must dominate, and not be dominated,” as Muhammad also said? Maybe some don’t, but others live where Islam already dominates (Saudi Arabia, Iran, Indonesia, etc. etc. etc.) and so there are few infidels around to try to subjugate. Others may simply prefer to deal with other things in their lives, but this doesn’t mean that Islam doesn’t teach warfare against and the subjugation of unbelievers, any more than the fact that many Christians don’t love their enemies means that Jesus didn’t tell them to do so.

Still, there are many people, including Muslims, who engage in terrorism and I join Mr. Ibrahim in wholeheartedly condemning all terrorist attacks, regardless of who commits them. However, a narrow focus on acts of terrorism committed by Muslims contributes to the false impression that Muslims are the leading perpetrators of terrorism. In fact, a 2005 FBI report on terrorism shows that between 1980 and 2005, only 6 percent of U.S. terror attacks were committed in the name of Islam.

And even if this were true, which it isn’t, would this small percentage mean that it would somehow be improper to examine and understand the motives and goals of the perpetrators of those 6 percent?

In addition, American Muslims are victims of both terrorism and hate crimes. More than 50 Muslim first responders and office workers were among those killed in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. In the last six months, there have been 10 documented anti-Muslim hate crimes in the Northwest alone.

Given Hamas-linked CAIR’s track record of publicizing fake hate crimes, I take this with a large grain of salt.

It is misleading claims such as Mr. Ibrahim’s that cause American Muslims to be looked upon with such fear and uncertainty. The reader would do well, when evaluating his lecture, to ask whether his claims would be acceptable if they were made about Jews, African Americans, Mormons, or any other minority group — and whether it would be appropriate for a college to give a platform to someone known for making such claims.

Yes, I remember when Jews, African Americans, and Mormons were committing terror attacks and making supremacist statements, and claiming victim status whenever anyone looked into why this kept happening.

Raymond Ibrahim must speak at Everett Community College. And when he does, I hope he exposes Hamas-linked CAIR.

CONTACT the college to ask that it not cave in to Hamas-linked CAIR’s efforts to intimidate them into rescinding Raymond Ibrahim’s invitation to speak.

The slick and smug imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, former front man and continuing board member for the Ground Zero mosque project, and the posturing adolescent Reza Aslan, appeared together last night at UCLA. It was a revealing harmonic convergence of stealth Islamic supremacists. If I weren’t speaking in Ohio tonight, I would have been there to ask some pointed questions of both of them.

Dishonesty and disingenuousness are the golden threads running through the careers and public statements of both Rauf and Aslan. Rauf is the self-proclaimed “man of peace” who has won such renown as a “moderate” that both Bush and Obama sent him to Muslim countries on goodwill missions. But as Pamela Geller has explained:

It is clear that Rauf and other mosque leaders are not as moderate as they claim to be. Rauf has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood…The Muslim Brotherhood is dedicated, according to a captured internal document, to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” Rauf’s book What’s Right with Islam says on the copyright page that “this edition was made possible through a joint effort of the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) and the office of Interfaith and Community Alliance of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Funding for this project was provided by IIIT.” Both IIIT and ISNA are Muslim Brotherhood fronts, and ISNA was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas terror funding case.

Rauf refused to condemn Hamas until the public outcry became too great for him to ignore. He was a prominent member of the Perdana organization, which bankrolled the jihad flotilla sent against Israel last year, on which the “peaceful” passengers were chanting a genocidal and antisemitic Islamic jihad chant.

Also, Rauf has said that “the US and the West must acknowledge the harm they have done to Muslims before terrorism can end.” He has claimed that “Western active involvement in shaping the internal affairs of Islamic societies have contributed to the creation of terrorism done in the name of Islam.” In other words, defending ourselves against jihad terrorism just creates jihad terrorism, so we should stop defending ourselves.

Rauf has carried his blame game even farther, claiming: “We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non Muslims.” He even said on 60 Minutes shortly after 9/11 that Osama bin Laden was “made in the USA.”

The Arabic translation of Rauf’s book What’s Right with Islam is disturbingly entitled A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of Post-9/11 America. This indicates that he has planned for years to spread Islam and Sharia from the site of the 9/11 attacks — belying his more recent claims that he intends the mosque to be a center for reconciliation and peace.

Geller adds: “In his book, Rauf supports and justifies Sharia law, and calls for restrictions on free speech in America. He has written another book that has gotten little notice: Islam: A Sacred Law—What Every Muslim Should Know About Sharia. In it he explains why God’s law is superior to manmade law, or that is, why Sharia is better than democracy.”

Geller also notes that Rauf “snagged more than $2 million in public financing to renovate low-income apartments” that he owned in New Jersey, but never made the renovations. Where is that money?

He has also been completely dishonest about the mosque project itself. Now it is a community center nowhere near Ground Zero, but when it was initially announced Rauf was forthright, saying: “New York is the capital of the world, and this location close to 9/11 is iconic.” That statement has now been scrubbed from the online version of the New York Times article in which it initially appeared.

Rauf even threatened America over this project, saying that if the mosque were not built, “if we don’t do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world….If we don’t handle this crisis correctly, it could become something very dangerous indeed.”

Aslan, for his part, is no less unsavory. Despite his pretentious puffery and literary mummery, he has revealed himself to be a arrogant gutter-minded buffoon who appears incapable of staking out or defending a coherent intellectual position, and instead (like Rauf) retails tired and oft-retreaded Islamic supremacist talking points about Muslim victimhood.

His Islamic supremacist ties and proclivities are becoming more ill-concealed by the day; nonetheless, he remains a heralded and media-saturated “moderate” Muslim. In reality, Aslan is a Board member of the National Iranian American Council, a group that genuine Iranian pro-democracy forces regard as an apologetic vehicle for the Islamic Republic of Iran. He has tried to pass off Iran’s genocidally-minded President Ahmadinejad as a liberal reformer. He has called on the U.S. Government to negotiate with Ahmadinejad himself, as well as with Hamas — that is, with two of the most barbaric and murderous adherents of Sharia.

Aslan has even praised the jihad terror group Hizballah as “the most dynamic political and social organization in Lebanon,” as well as the Jew-hating, women-hating, kuffar-hating Muslim Brotherhood, which is dedicated in its own words to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within” — including, presumably, the works of Andy Warhol. Aslan wrote: “The Muslim Brotherhood will have a significant role to play in post-Mubarak Egypt. And that is good thing.” If, in 1932, someone had written that “the National Socialist Party will have a significant role to play in post-Weimar Germany, and that is a good thing,” he would have rightly been called a Nazi sympathizer.

Aslan has also spoken at events sponsored by the Muslim Students Association, a Brotherhood group, and at an event co-sponsored by the Los Angeles chapter of Hamas-linked CAIR, and moderated by the notorious Edina Lekovic, the Muslim Public Affairs Council flack whom Steve Emerson caught lying on national television, denying she was editor of a Muslim student publication that praised Osama bin Laden as a great mujahid. Emerson produced copies of the rag showing Lekovic’s name on the masthead as editor on the very same page on which the praise for Osama appeared.

These guys are speaking at UCLA tonight. I hope patriots will be there too, ready with courteous, polite, and pointed questions.

“Celebrated Imam to Speak at UCLA,” by Brantley Watson for the Westwood-Century City Patch, May 3:

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Chairman of the Cordoba Initiative, which seeks to develop projects that mend conflict between Western and Islamic communities, is scheduled to be the subject of a Q & A segment at Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA Wednesday night. [...]Wednesday’s Q & A will begin at 8 p.m. and will be moderated by Reza Aslan, an Iranian-American activist, as well as an internationally recognized scholar and writer. Tickets are free and available at the UCLA Central Ticket Office, or the Royce Hall box office on Wednesday evening beginning at 7pm. Tickets are also available at the Hammer Museum in Westwood at the front desk.

Denmark: Islamic Expert Hedegaard Found Guilty of “Hate Speech” for Offending Muslims

Lars Hedegaard, a colleague and respected author, has been convicted of sharia blasphemy laws under the guise of “hate speech” laws in Denmark.

This is the imposition of Islamic supremacism in secular societies, made possible by leftist apologists and enablers in the West.

This is a death blow to Denmark. Geert Wilders is standing trial for the the same Islamic lunacy law. Europe’s maddening descent into the dark ages bodes most ill for free men:

(CBN News) — A Danish court has found a leading Islamic expert guilty of racism for his comments about Muslims, the latest ruling in an ongoing battle between free speech and Islam in Europe.

Lars Hedegaard was charged with racism under Denmark’s hate speech law after telling someone at a gathering about the problem of rape committed against Muslim girls by male relatives.

“Of course I made clear that I was not talking about every Muslim man in the country or in the world. By the way, I was not talking specifically about conditions in Denmark,” Hedegaard explained.

Hedegaard said it’s a fact that can be backed up by hard evidence. But in Denmark, that doesn’t matter.

Under Denmark’s hate speech law, it doesn’t matter if what you said was true. It doesn’t matter if it is factual — if it offends someone, you could be charged.

A guilty verdict hinged on whether what Hedegaard said was intended for a wider audience. A lower court decided it was not, and acquitted him.

Statement by Lars Hedegaard on his conviction for “hate speech”

Copenhagen, May 5, 2011

It is with great sadness I have to report that Denmark’s reputation as a haven of free speech and a bastion of resistance to sharia encroachment is irreparably tarnished. Denmark is my country and I used to be proud of it.

On May 3 the Eastern Superior Court in Copenhagen convicted me of hate speech under Denmark’s infamous Article 266 b of the penal code – a rubber provision that may be stretched to serve any political purpose dear to the hearts of the ruling elites.

My crime is to have called attention to the horrific conditions of Muslim women and for my audacity the court has now enabled my detractors to label me a racist.

Muslims can say whatever they want with impunity. Just a few weeks ago Denmark opened its gates to the hate-spewing preacher Bilal Philips, known for his advocacy of wife-beating and the killing of homosexuals. He was provided a platform in Copenhagen and nobody thought of dragging him into court.

Our authorities and their allies among the pc elites have chosen sides in the struggle between the forces of freedom and the forces of darkness and so opted for the oppressors of their own people and against those deserving of their protection.

The real victims of this despicable case are freedom of speech and the tens of thousands of girls and women – Muslim as well as non-Muslim – whose plight may no longer be mentioned in my country for fear of legal prosecution and public denigration.

We cannot permit this outcome to stand. I have therefore decided to appeal my conviction to the Supreme Court and – if that is denied – to the European Court of Human Rights.

This is a fight for liberty against tyranny. It will be long and hard but losing is no option.

AH HAH! No wonder Osama bin Laden gave up without much of a fight

NAVY SEAL TEAM 6 had a secret weapon when they entered the bin Laden compound….A SUPER DOG!

And we know how much Muslims loathe dogs!

ABC NEWS - Military dogs are highly trained, invaluable assets in the war on terror. They are capable of detecting explosives, finding enemies and chasing down anyone who tries to escape.

“The capability they [the dogs] bring to the fight cannot be replicated by man or machine,” said Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan. “By all measures of performance, their yield outperforms any asset we have in our industry. Our Army would be remiss if we failed to invest more in this incredibly valuable resource.”

The dogs are a fighting force on four legs that are able to parachute into action, rappel into combat and swim into a skirmish. They are outfitted with protective body armor and a powerful bite. According to the U.S. Air Force, the bite from a German shepherd, one of the breeds used by the military, has a force between 400 and 700 pounds.

Osama bin Laden’s youngest wife hadn’t left the compound in 5 years

Posted: May 6, 2011 | Author: barenakedislam | Filed under: Women | 3 Comments »

He met her when she was 15 years old and was so smitten with her he dumped one of his other four wives in order to marry her.

The Blaze - Amal Ahmed Abdul-Fattah, the youngest, most favored wife of Osama bin Laden, told interrogators that she has not left the compound where her husband was killed in five years. Abdul-Fattah, who was reportedly in the room when bin Laden was shot dead by Navy Seals, was injured in the leg during the raid. She is said to be in her late twenties.

The wife, who was wounded in the raid, said she lived in the compound in Abbottabad with eight of bin Laden’s children and five others from another family, Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas told CNN. All of them have been in Pakistani custody since the pre-dawn U.S. commando raid that killed bin Laden and will be returned to their country of origin, Abbas said.

But now that bin Laden’s wives have lost their sole means of support, BRAVO has offered them their own Reality TV show.

I wonder if Barack Obama also thinks the Hezbollah terrrorists who cross the Rio Grande to sneak into America aren’t criminals either?

Posted: May 5, 2011 | Author: barenakedislam | Filed under: EnemyWithin-American | 11 Comments »

Obama already said he doesn’t care how you get into this country. We know Hezbollah has been working the border of Mexico for several years now – the signature of which are all the beheaded people turning up down there. And now Hezbollah is considered more advanced than al-Qaeda according to national security experts.

10 NEWS - ”Hezbollah is recognized by many experts as the ‘A’ team of Muslim terrorist organizations,” a former U.S. intelligence agent told 10News. The former agent added, “They certainly have had successes in big-ticket bombings.” Some of the group’s bombings include the U.S. embassy in Beirut and Israeli embassy in Argentina.

However, the group is now active much closer to San Diego.”We are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico,” the agent told 10News.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. policy has focused on al-Qaida and its offshoots.”They are more shooters than thinkers … it’s a lot of muscles, courage, desire but not a lot of training,” the agent said, referring to al-Qaida. Hezbollah, he said, is far more advanced.

”Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans,” he said.

The agent, who has spent years deep undercover in Mexico, said Hezbollah is partnering with drug organizations, but which ones is not clear at this time.

He told 10News the group receives cartel cash and protection in exchange for Hezbollah expertise. ”From money laundering to firearms training and explosives training,” the agent said. For example, he tracked, along with Mexican intelligence, two Hezbollah operatives in safe houses in Tijuana and Durango

“I confirmed the participation of cartel members as well as other Hezbollah individuals living and operating out of there,” he said. Tunnels the cartels have built that cross from Mexico into the U.S. have grown increasingly sophisticated. It is a learned skill, the agent said points to Hezbollah’s involvement.

“Where are the knowledgeable tunnel builders? Certainly in the Middle East,” he said. Why have Americans not heard more about Hezbollah’s activities happening so close to the border? ”If they really wanted to start blowing stuff up, they could do it,” the agent said.

According to the agent, the organization sees the U.S. as their “cash cow,” with illegal drug and immigration operations. Many senior Hezbollah leaders are wealthy businessmen, the agent said. ”The money they are sending back to Lebanon is too important right now to jeopardize those operations,” he said.

The agent said the real concern is the group’s long-term goal of radicalizing Muslim communities. ”They’re focusing on developing … infiltrating communities within North America,” the agent told 10News.

SON OF HAMAS: Double agent who double-duped America and Israel

Posted: May 5, 2011 | Author: barenakedislam | Filed under: Islam and the Jews | 35 Comments »

This son of a Hamas leader and former Israeli spy who claims to be a Christian now, tells a whole different story when he speaks in Arabic. Now we know why this former Hamas ‘turncoat’s’ life was never really in danger.

By Walid Shoebat, a real former Palestinian terrorist who is now a real Christian and champion of America and Israel for many years.

Pajamas Media - While a prisoner of Israel in 1996, Mosab Hassan Yousef — the son of Sheik Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas — was approached by Shin Bet agents who looked to recruit him to spy within Hamas. He agreed. Mosab’s information soon had Shin Bet calling him “the most reliable source in the Hamas leadership,” and Israeli lives were undoubtedly saved as a result of Mosab’s collaboration. Despite this success, Yousef has since revealed himself to be more double agent than turncoat.

On the Arabic-language show  Daring Question, Mosab wore the symbol of pro-Palestine advocates, the kaffiyeh:

With a balanced approach I discuss the life of the Palestinian child under the Israeli occupation, of course my life suffered under all the problems of murder and the criminal operations that were carried out by the Israeli occupation against my people, my family, myself, and against humanity.

To Mosab, the Palestinian struggle was lacking: while he praises Hamas leaders as “heroes and glorious defenders,” he instructs them to enlist more educated political defenders like himself:

With regret, our great leaders and mighty heroes and glorious defenders over there did not realize that instead of spending their wealth and monies on silly issues, they needed to enlist in their ranks writers and educated individuals in order to reverse the image of the Palestinian struggle.

Mosab stated that he is only against Hamas methodology, but not their agenda:

It appeared at first that my desire was to seek revenge against Hamas. … How could I do such a thing … revenge [against] my own father? He is one of the leaders of Hamas.

Perhaps the most shocking revelation: Mosab asks Arabs not to report terrorist activity. The host of Daring Questionasked a caller:

If you were in Mosab’s position and have two choices: either someone from Hamas will be killed, or school children in a bus will be killed, will you report it?

The Arab Christian caller vacillated, then Mosab spoke:

If I was in your shoes, you should not report it to Israel.  I do not encourage anyone to give information to Israel or collaborate with Israel. If anyone hears me right now and they are in relation to Israeli security I advise them to work for the interest of their own people — number one — and do not work with the [Israeli] enemy against the interest of our people. They should collaborate with the Palestinian Authority only.

Most in the West do not understand the Arab “Christian” position when it comes to Israel. Witness the Daring Question host Rasheed, a Christian convert from Islam himself, pardoning Mosab from any wrongdoing: the pardon is not for Mosab’s connection to Hamas, but for his collaboration with Israel. To Rasheed, Mosab’s collaboration was during his Muslim life, while he was still unforgiven:

He [Mosab] did not become Christian then collaborate with Israel. He used to collaborate with Israel, then became Christian.

Mosab’s book Son of Hamas — published in English — does not express Mosab’s views as openly as his Arabic statements do, and the book is additionally littered with factual errors and exaggerations.

For example: Mosab portrays the Jerusalem prison as a center for torture and persecution of Palestinians. The reality is much kinder; each inmate has his own bed and an in-the-cell shower as well. I know this — I was a prisoner there myself.

We ate three full meals a day, and drank tea or sweet punch. And Mosab fails to mention that the Maskubia had Jewish inmates as well, who received the same treatment as the Palestinians and ate out of the same menu. Yes, you were beaten by security when lives were at stake: I witnessed first-hand Israeli soldiers in the corridor beating an inmate who attempted to kill his cellmate (I was selected to clean the mess afterward). What was so shocking to me at the time? The attempted murderer was a Jew.

Israeli Security Agent testifies of behalf of Mosab at asylum hearing. Mosab Hassan Yousef, right, walks into his deportation hearing with former Israeli security service agent Gonen Ben-Itzhak, left, at the immigration detention center in San Diego Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Yousef says he will be killed if he is deported from the United States to the West Bank. The oldest son of one of Hamas’ founders, he was an Israeli spy for a decade, and he abandoned Islam for Christianity, further marking him a traitor.

I have never heard of Israelis killing Palestinians in prison. Yet Palestinian prisoners do kill each other, as Mosab himself describes. Palestinian inmates killed my landlord Muneer Abu-Sayb’a from Bethlehem, yet his death was blamed on Israel. My friend Basem Hanuneh was brutally murdered — his privates removed and stuffed in his mouth — which was also blamed on Israel.

Mosab is now touring churches to end Israel’s lifeline. Many Jews and Christians in the West are unable to determine friend from foe in the Mideast; they are not able to read what is said in Arabic. They must seek translations, and must be aware of double agents like Mosab.

Here’s a sample of the BS story he used to peddle his book in America

MUSLIM ‘INVENTIONS’…and the lies Muslims like to tell you about them.

  • Share this:

The turnout for this event and its reception in Jakarta will bear watching as one potential indicator of the strength and support (or tacit acceptance) of this subset of the Tiny Minority of Extremists. “Radical Indonesian Muslim Group to Hold Mass Prayer for bin Laden,” by Tara Kelly for Time, May 4:

The Islamic Defenders Front, a radical Indonesian Muslim group in Jakarta, announced plans to hold “a mass prayer for Bin Laden,” CNN reports.

In a text message to the media, the Islamic Defenders Front announced its prayer service just two days after the world’s most wanted man was killed and buried by U.S. special forces. Mourners were invited to “express gratitude to the late martyr Sheikh Osama bin Laden.” The service will take place in Jakarta, the capital of one of the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nations on Wednesday.

Al-Qaeda has ties to Indonesian terrorists and radical groups dating back about three decades. The Islamic Defenders Front is known for attacking Jakarta nightclubs and threatening Westerners, according to Jane’s Terrorism & Security Monitor. Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa said on Tuesday that security measures had been escalated for the meeting of ten Southeast Asian leaders in Jakarta this Saturday.

Among some conservative and radical Muslim groups, news of bin Laden’s death has caused anger, reports the Jakarta Globe. The Indonesia Council of Ulema (MUI), the country’s highest Islamic body, slammed the US decision to bury bin Laden at sea: “A Muslim, whatever his profession, even a criminal, their rites must be respected. There must be a prayer and the body should be wrapped in white cloth before being buried in the earth, not at sea,” MUI chief Amidhan said. The United States says bin Laden received Muslim rites but his body was “eased” into the Arabian Sea so no one could turn his grave into a shrine.

Top U.S. intelligence officials told members of Congress at a classified briefing in the Capitol Tuesday that at the time of bin Laden’s death, it was discovered he had 500 euros in cash ($740 in U.S. dollars) and telephone numbers sewn into his clothes, reports Politico. The cash and phone numbers suggest to U.S. authorities he was prepared to flee his compound at a moment’s notice and could justify why U.S. did not tip off Pakistan about the planned raid.

Among a few other reasons.

This story, now almost five years old, is worth revisiting in the aftermath of bin Laden’s death in a mansion under the noses of Pakistan’s military elite. We first posted it in September of 2006. The link no longer works, but the story was originally run by ABC News under the title “Bin Laden Gets a Pass from Pakistan”:

Osama bin Laden, America’s most wanted man, will not face capture in Pakistan if he agrees to lead a “peaceful life,” Pakistani officials tell ABC News.

The surprising announcement comes as Pakistani army officials announced they were pulling their troops out of the North Waziristan region as part of a “peace deal” with the Taliban.

If he is in Pakistan, bin Laden “would not be taken into custody,” Major General Shaukat Sultan Khan told ABC News in a telephone interview, “as long as one is being like a peaceful citizen.”

Present-day comment: Perhaps this, or something similar, was the arrangement in Abbottabad, though the definition of behaving “peacefully” is a highly subjective one here.

Bin Laden is believed to be hiding somewhere in the tribal areas of Pakistan, near the Afghanistan border, but U.S. officials say his precise location is unknown.

In addition to the pullout of Pakistani troops, the “peace agreement” between Pakistan and the Taliban also provides for the Pakistani army to return captured Taliban weapons and prisoners.

“What this means is that the Taliban and al Qaeda leadership have effectively carved out a sanctuary inside Pakistan,” said ABC News consultant Richard Clarke, the former White House counter-terrorism director.

Indeed.

The agreement was signed on the same day President Bush said the United States was working with its allies “to deny terrorists the enclaves they seek to establish in ungoverned areas across the world.”

The Pakistani Army had gone into Waziristan, under heavy pressure from the United States, but faced a series of humiliating defeats at the hands of the Taliban and al Qaeda fighters.

“They’re throwing the towel,” said Alexis Debat, who is a Senior Fellow at the Nixon Center and an ABC News consultant. “They’re giving al Qaeda and the Taliban a blank check and saying essentially make yourselves at home in the tribal areas,” Debat said.

Back in the present, we know how that has worked out for them.

Nothing says “Religion of Peace” like a grenade through the window. Somalia’s jihadists have longer-standing issues with television, both as a source of unapproved information and of impious frivolity and vice, just as the Taliban have in Afghanistan. But this ban extends to radio (targeted earlier for playing music) as well.

It is not surprising the al-Qaeda-affiliated group can’t stomach the dissemination of news of such a military defeat so expertly executed by the kuffar, except by tightly controlled, approved sources that will give it the proper jihadist spin to the extent that they mention it at all. “AlShabaab bans locals from following Bin Laden death related news,” from Mareeg, May 3 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):

03.05.2011–Jowhar (Mareeg.com)As soon as Bin Laden killing news surfaced in Somalia, Al-shabaab militia in Jowhar town of Somalia ordered local residents not to follow any news related to that particular incident and threatened that they will severely punish any person who is seen listening to radios airing anything related to that incident.

According to local residents in Jawhar, Televisions or Radios were not turned on during the whole day yesterday after Alshabaab’s announcement. Residents avoided discussing anything related to that incident.

According to local woman who requested not to be identified for security reasons, Al-Shabaab operatives especially members of the much revered Amniyaad brigades hurled hand grenades inside some houses where some anxious residents gathered secretly to watch TV stations that were intensively covering this extraordinary incident, many were injured as result of these bombs.

“It’s very obvious that Al-Shabaab are on state of denial when it comes to Bin laden’s killing by the Americans, they are trying to terrorize us to prevent us from following anything about Bin-Laden’s sudden killing, they know that we all are happy to hear this interesting news, they are like orphans now” said the local Somali woman from Jowhar.

Meanwhile, Al-Shabaab hasn’t commented yet about Bin Laden killing by the Americans, however, conspiracy theories are anxiously circulated among Somalis, according to one conspiracy theory; Bin Laden was killed apparently few years ago by natural cause most likely kidney failure and was buried in secret location which was lately discovered by CIA, who in turn concocted this fascinating Hollywood style scenario for purely electoral purposes.

The article’s author, just named as “Abdi” at the end, hedges his bets:

Whether this is genuine operation or concocted scenario one thing is certain, Bin Laden has left an orphan in Somalia who appears in “Denial state” and probably soon will realize that their god father is clearly DEAD.

No, even that will be subject to denial. Bin Laden may yet become like a jihadist Elvis to those true fans who can’t believe he’s gone.

And the Islamic Republic of Iran has never, ever, ever presented a violent image of Islam.

Never. Ever. “Iranian MP: Bin Laden was Zionist puppet,” by Dudi Cohen for YNet News, May 4 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):

Iranian officials have begun to hypothesize on the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, pronounced dead by the US early Monday morning.

Ismail Kosari, a member of the Iranian parliament’s Security and Foreign Policy Commission and a close affiliate of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, postulated that bin Laden was actually operated by Israel.

“He was just a puppet controlled by the Zionist regime in order to present a violent image of Islam after the September 11 attacks,” he said, adding that the al-Qaeda leader’s assassination proves he had “an expiration date” forcing the US to kill him.

“Bin Laden’s death reflects the passing of a temporary US pawn, and symbolizes the end of one era and the beginning of another in American policy in the region,” Kosari said.

Another member of the commission, Javad Jahangirzadeh, accused the US of carrying out terror attacks with bin Laden’s assistance. He says the administration killed the terrorist in order to prevent information about this from leaking out.

“The West has been very pleased with bin Laden’s operations in recent years,” Jahangirzadeh said. “Now the West was forced to kill him in order to prevent a possible leak of information he had, information more precious than gold.”

He said the arch-terrorist could have endangered Western interests had he been allowed to go on living, by exposing past as well as future operations.

On Monday Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ramin Mehman-Parast officially responded to the killing, saying that now the United States and its allies have lost the legitimacy to stay in the region and fight terror.

Obligatory:

“This event proves that there is no need for a massive war to deal with one person,” he said, adding that Iran was opposed to all types of terror, “including the Zionist regime’s organized terror”.

And Hizballah and Hamas deliver candygrams and flowers.

Aww, guys! How could you Americans say that about your buddy Pakistan? And now, look what you’ve done. There’s “now ‘total mistrust’ between the United States and Pakistan.”

And that’s supposed to be America‘s fault. But, as we all know, this is nothing new. From September, 2006:

Osama bin Laden, America’s most wanted man, will not face capture in Pakistan if he agrees to lead a “peaceful life,” Pakistani officials tell ABC News. … If he is in Pakistan, bin Laden “would not be taken into custody,” Major General Shaukat Sultan Khan told ABC News in a telephone interview, “as long as one is being like a peaceful citizen.”

But Pakistan is now “dismayed.” Having Navy SEALs find bin Laden in a mansion under the nose of Pakistan’s military elite will do that. It’s… awkward. “Pakistan dismayed at U.S. claim it was lax on bin Laden intelligence,” from CNN, May 4:

Abbottabad, Pakistan (CNN) — Pakistan reacted with dismay Wednesday at CIA director Leon Panetta’s assertion that it had not done enough to bring Osama bin Laden to justice, saying there is now “total mistrust” between the United States and Pakistan.

A senior Pakistani intelligence official was reacting to reports that Panetta had told House members Tuesday that Pakistan’s role in determining bin Laden’s whereabouts was troubling.

According to two sources in a closed door briefing, Panetta told lawmakers “either they were involved or incompetent. Neither place is a good place to be.”

If Panetta made such a comment, the Pakistani intelligence official said, “What worse statement can come than that we heard from Panetta? I am afraid this statement is totally regrettable. (Panetta) of all people knows how much we have been doing.”

The Pakistani official, who did not want to be named, said his country had been generously sharing intelligence with its American counterparts. He expressed anger that the United States did not inform Pakistan in advance about Sunday’s U.S. mission that killed bin Laden in Pakistan.

“We have been sharing everything with them, but they have been selectively sharing with us,” the official said. “They are entirely dependent on what we provided them. Why were details (of the operation) not shared with us?”

In an interview with Time magazine, Panetta said “it was decided that any effort to work with the Pakistanis could jeopardize the mission. They might alert the targets.” [...]

… [In] Indonesia, the hardline Islamic Defenders Front planned a prayer service for bin Laden Wednesday, two days after the world’s most wanted terrorist was killed in attack at his compound in Pakistan.

In a text message to the media, the Islamic Defenders Front announced its service will take place in Jakarta. The radical Indonesian Muslim group is known for attacking Jakarta nightclubs and threatening Westerners, according to Jane’s Terrorism & Security Monitor…..

Hamas benefits from the chance to ride the coattails of Fatah’s undeserved “moderate” reputation. Fatah benefits from momentarily neutralizing its rival, and having recourse to (and plausible deniability for) the services of a group that continues to fire at will at Israel. And if they can keep the deal up, both benefit from the ability to combine forces and methods to attempt to chip away at Israel. An update on this story. “Palestinian rivals Hamas and Fatah sign reconciliation deal,” from the Guardian, May 4:

The rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas have signed a landmark reconciliation pact aimed at ending their bitter four-year rift.

A ceremony marking the deal, which was mediated by Egypt, took place on Wednesday at the Egyptian intelligence headquarters in Cairo.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal said his faction was “ready to pay any price” for reconciliation among Palestinians, the Arabic satellite channel al-Arabiya reported.

The Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, said the accord ended “four black years” that hurt national Palestinian interests. He also said at the ceremony that he would soon visit the Hamas-held Gaza Strip.

“We announce to Palestinians that we turn forever the black page of division,” he said.

The pact provides for the creation of a joint caretaker Palestinian government before national elections next year.

Critics have cast doubt on the durability of the Egyptian-brokered accord, which has been denounced by Israel.

The deal calls for the formation of an interim government to run the occupied West Bank, where Abbas is based, and Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and prepare for parliamentary and presidential elections within a year.

Palestinians see this reconciliation as crucial for their drive to establish an independent state in the territories captured by Israel in the 1967 war.

Lose wars. Demand a do-over. Repeat as necessary.

Abbas said in his opening address: “We announce the good news from Egypt which has always carried its national and historical responsibility towards the Palestinian people. Four black years have affected the interests of Palestinians. Now we meet to assert a unified will.”

The ceremony was briefly delayed by a disagreement over protocol. Palestinian sources said the dispute was over whether Meshaal should sit on the podium with Abbas or among other Palestinian delegates in the hall.

At the ceremony, Abbas was initially on the podium to give his speech, and then Meshaal took the podium for his address.

“This is an historical moment documenting the real will of the Palestinian people. The people have taken a step to retrieve its unity,” said the Egyptian intelligence chief Murad Muwafi.

Shortly before the ceremony, the senior Fatah official Nabil Shaath said: “The signing has been done. Everyone signed. Today is the crowning of this achievement.”

A spokesman for Abbas, Nabil Abu Rdainah, said the deal was signed on behalf of Fatah by Azzam al-Ahmad and for Hamas by Mousa Abu Marzouk. It was not immediately clear why Meshaal and Abbas did not put their own signatures to the deal.

Palestinian officials said the ceremony was a “celebration”. In Hamas-controlled Gaza, university students distributed sweets, sang and rallied to mark the deal.

“We are celebrating the achievement of this victory to end divisions and send a message to the Israeli occupation that your threats will not deter us from achieving reconciliation,” said Ahmed Abu Arar, who was among those rallying.

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has denounced the deal and stopped transferring Palestinian tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority, saying Fatah must choose between Israel and the Islamist group that he says is an enemy of peace….

When your stated goal is to destroy Israel, then, yes, you’re an enemy of peace with Israel.

“Even serious people view him as an actual mujahid, a shahid who should be celebrated as such.”

The aftermath of bin Laden’s death ought to be an instructive moment for the world on the phenomenon of the Tiny Minority of Extremists. Hence the other problem discussed below: the ongoing persecution of Christians by Muslims in Iraq and elsewhere. “Christians fear more attacks, Iraqi ambassador in Rome pledges protection,” from AsiaNews, May 3:

Baghdad (AsiaNews) – Osama Bin Laden’s death has raised fears among Iraqi Christians. Iraq’s ambassador to Italy, Saywan Barzani, has tried to allay such fears, saying that for his government, the “most important thing is to ensure the security and defence of Christians.” In Iraq, Church sources note “Osama Bin Laden is a strange and dangerous phenomenon. He has created a school, and an en entire generation has been indoctrinated by him. They number in the thousands in Arab nations but also elsewhere.”

Bin Laden’s death has caused dangerous reactions, a Christian priest told AsiaNews. “On TV, he is described as a saint. Even serious people view him as an actual mujahid (fighter), a shahid (martyr) who should be celebrated as such. An imam said that just [by shedding] a drop of his blood, he will go to heaven. Bin Laden has fought against Sufis, Christians and Shias… I am shocked.”

His legacy will survive his death, this according to Christians in Baghdad. “Bin Laden represents a radical movement against everything that is not medieval Islam. It is especially politicised against the West (seen as morally and culturally corrupt). In many Arab countries, intellectuals praised him. The danger, for the West, which is seen as the Great Satan, is now greater.”

For Mgr Louis Sako, archbishop of Kirkuk, a great educational effort is needed. “His death does not solve the problem. With his disappearance, there will not be more peace. His death will not increase pluralism and communal harmony. We need a campaign to re-educate young Muslims towards a moderate Islam that accepts others and respects diversity. War complicates matters and does not help positive change.”

Many also fear a possible “vengeance”. AsiaNews spoke to Saiwan Barzani, Iraq’s ambassador to Italy about it.

“Iraq is the main front in the worldwide fight against terrorism,” he said. “We have had the largest number of attacks in history as well as the greatest number of casualties. We have a long experience, and our security forces and military are on maximum alert.”

Barzani wants you to think jihadists have only been targeting Christians for persecution for eight years:

Barzani noted that terrorists began targeting Christians when they realised that this would attract media attention.” The government is doing everything it can to protect churches and Iraq’s Christian communities because they are an historical component of Iraq. Indeed, we must protect them by any means.”…

Everything? Really? You’ll understand if we have our doubts.

CIA confirms: Pakistanis not notified of OBL takedown over fears they would “jeopardize the mission”

So why are we still giving them billions every year? “CIA: Blitz, Pakistan Not Warned To Avoid Alerting Bin Laden,” from AGI, May 3 (thanks to C. Cantoni):

(AGI) Washington- The CIA did not inform Pakistani authorities of the blitz over fears that they could “jeopardize the mission”. Leon Panetta, head of the CIA and future Secretary of Defense, broke the silence surrounding the mission that ended Osama Bin Laden’s life in his compound in Abbottabbad and, in essence, stated that Washington does not trust its allies in Islamabad. In such a situation Pakistan “might alert the targets”, Panetta added during his interview on Time magazine in which other details of the blitz were revealed. . .
