NEWS: Prayer crucial FOR Pakistani Christian woman sentenced to death
ELKTON, Md. – Authorities say two doctors accused of performing late-term abortions in Maryland have been arrested and charged with murder.
There are new warnings that Christianity could possibly be wiped out of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt because of severe and persistent persecution against Christians. Apparently, the only place in the Middle East where Christians are safe is the state of Israel.
FOX According to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, in 2003, there were 800,000 to 1.4 million Christians in Iraq. Today, there are only an estimated 500,000 Christians.
Leonard Leo, of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, says that there’s a serious increase in the amount of violence, at the hands of both governments and individuals, that’s been perpetrated against Christians in the region. Of the possibility that Christianity may be eradicated in the region, Leo said, “First of all, Christianity has always been a very important part of the fabric of Middle Eastern and North African society, and for those populations to now be dwindling or leaving, has a very serious impact on the stability, security and prosperity of countries in the Middle East and in north and sub-Saharan Africa.”

What would he do? I sketched out a few plot elements, and you can decide whether this will fly. First, the Trojan Horse president would initiate unprecedented spending, driving the debt up by more than $4 trillion just in the first three years. Much of the money would go into the pockets of political supporters and people who donate heavily to his campaigns. He would ram through an unreadable law allowing the federal…

The destruction of a collection of rare documents on Egyptian antiquities, and the persecution of Christians, highlights a fundamental problem with fundamentalist Islam.
We are faced with this dilemma now, in the wake of the “Arab Spring.” No matter what our policy in the Middle East, it is criticized by one side or another.
Pandering to P.C. demands will sink us, will weaken our foundations and our unique culture; a culture of tolerance yet of logic, of equality but also of independence.
19 Honor Killing: Christian Convert Mother of Three (Month-Old Baby, 2-year-old and 9-year-old) Brutally Murdered by Muslim Boyfriend on Christmas day
Egypt’s military is the last thing standing between it and Sharia rule. Thus it is also the last protection for the country’s Christians. “Egypt’s military: On alert for New Year’s attack on Christians,” from NBC, December 30 (thanks to Kenneth):
Update at 6:25 p.m. ET: Facebook has apparently taken down the account of at least one group threatening a New Year’s attack on Egyptian Christians. An Arab-language Facebook page (not linked to in the story but monitored by msnbc.com reporters) no longer loads.Original post: The Egyptian military said Friday that it was increasing security at churches across the country before the anniversary of a deadly New Year’s attack on Coptic Christians in Alexandria.
The heightened state of alert before New Year’s celebrations and the Coptic Christmas season came as anonymous threats against the Copts circulated on Facebook.
One of those on Friday threatened a suicide bombing of an unnamed church in Egypt and said that the church’s name would be posted at 11:50 p.m. local time Saturday just before the attack. A spokesman for Facebook said it was aware of the threat “and is investigating it.”
The Alexandria attack occurred just after midnight Jan. 1 as worshippers left a New Year’s Mass. More than 20 people were killed, making it the worst violence against the Christian minority in Egypt in a decade….

Boko Haram: The Dilemma of Human Ignorance, Religion Fideism and Failure of Leadership
Adewale T Akande – 12/30/2011
Without mincing words, I am using this opportunity to console the souls of innocent citizens that lost their lives, commiserates with the families of those who lost their loved ones and wish those injured speedy recovery from the “absurd†(according to the White House) and “senseless†bomb blasts by the islamist group called Boko Haram. It was the first bloody Christmas ever experienced by Nigerians since 1960.
